Positive Peace for Lebanon: Launch of the Accord Publication on Peacebuilding in Lebanon
This conference focused on the launch of “Positive Peace for Lebanon,” a new report compiled by the London-based peacebuilding NGO, Conciliation Resources. As the 24th publication in Conciliation Resources’ “Accord” series, the report features over 30 articles exploring domestic and regional issues currently hindering Lebanon’s peacebuilding efforts. Participants at the conference discussed ways to promote peace among Lebanon’s diverse citizenry, including encouraging people to confront the country’s violent history, engaging each sector of the population in a national dialogue, reforming the electoral system and decentralizing, and maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty amid regional pressures.
The conference was organized by the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies in collaboration with Conciliation Resources.
