Regional Social Protection in an Insecure Era: A South-South Exchange on Alternative Social Policies Responses to Globalization
Inter-Regional Workshop, February 27th - March 1st, 2001, Beirut

The Social Protection in an Insecure Era workshop was sponsored and co-organized with the Special Unit for Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries, United Nations Development Programme (SU/TCDC-UNDP).

Participants at the workshop were senior policy makers, policy researchers, and selected non-governmental organizations active in the social policies field. The purpose of the workshop was to establish a platform for a South-South exchange of innovations, experiences and expertise in the area of social protection policies within the context of globalization with a view to formulate an inter-regional programme in this field.

The workshop also openned up avenues of further collaborative policy research, technical cooperation and exchange of experiences among participant organizations and the larger social policy community.
