The first meeting of the LET seminar was held on March 9, 1995, at Al-Bustan Hotel. The meeting was attended by a group of 40 businessmen, bankers, and economists. Dr. Habib Abu Sakr, the Director General of the Ministry of Finance, delivered a speech prepared by the Finance Minister. Dr. Nadim Munla, the Minister's chief economic advisor, presented the governments plan to finance the reconstruction of Lebanon and the financial model which underpins it. Most of the discussions which followed the presentation centered around the question of the future direction(s) of the Lebanese economy.
