A policy paper was prepared by an LCPS research associate, Dr. Elie Yashouie, a professor of Economics at St. Joseph University. The paper on industrial policy was presented in a public forum on the 28th of September, 1995, at the American University of Beirut Alumni Association. The policy paper outlines the main problems and opportunities facing Lebanese industry and calls for more favorable government policies. The meeting was attended by 45 economists, academics, businessmen, and journalists. The presentation was commented on by Mr. Nicholas Nahass, a member of the Board of Directors of the Lebanese Industrialists Association.

The study entitled "Towards an Industrial Strategy for Lebanon "was published in Arabic and was widely distributed to ministers, parliamentarians, economist and members of the press. It includes the paper and the forum discussions.
