    Episode 45: Culture, Memory, and Recovery in Wartime (Arabic)

    Lebanon’s Minister of Culture, Ghassan Salameh, spoke with Dima Samira, Senior Researcher at the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies, about the impact of the war on culture and society in Lebanon, and the role of culture in protecting heritage and memory and strengthening social cohesion. They also discussed the challenges of documentation, recovery, and the continuity of cultural policies.

     

    Dr. Ghassan Salameh is Lebanon’s Minister of Culture, as well as an academic and diplomat with extensive experience in mediation and conflict resolution. He has held several senior positions at the United Nations, including in Iraq and Libya, and has worked on issues related to conflicts and political transitions in divided societies.
