Lebanon’s Economic Crisis by Sector: The Knowledge Economy Loses Its Balance
- Lina S. Maddah, Bassel Akar
This policy brief examines the current state of the knowledge economy in Lebanon relative to the economic crisis, highlighting the main challenges and opportunities, with a particular focus on practices within the business environment and education system that hinder innovation, resilience, and sustainable development.
Many of these concerns, given their important role in limiting the potential of the nation’s knowledge economy, would have remained hidden had it not been for the multiple crises that Lebanon has suffered over the past few years. The brief therefore offers a series of recommendations that can once again breathe life into the country’s once critical knowledge economy.
